You can spend your credits in the bar at Rocky's Cafe or you can save them up so to compete with other users by comparing how much credits you have.
also who picks the the User of the day?????
Beats me. I just wondered about the very same thing... LOL!
No, it's Matt Lebofsky I think. Or Janus maybe. Perhaps Athlon Rob. Or someone else. You can email Dr. Anderson with any complaints you may have about the pick. ;)

I think it's a random pick among the users. Blame it on Klaatu! I've noticed a couple of times that the UOTD has been inactive for months. On SETI-Beta, it seems to be the most recent user.

Think its everytime some clicks on 'I Like This Profile', it earns you a red flag on the profile, then the profile with most red flags, becomes UOTD.
Example:

Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge.

No, it's purely random, but with a function which prevents repeats.

See David Kim's reply in this thread at Rosetta.

Are you sure it works the same here? Just wondering because it says Recommend for..., Seemed a bit odd to put that if its random.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that it works this way. The recommend button was actually useless untill recently, as far as I'm informed. And I still don't know it they are considered at all in drawing the winner of the UOTD lottery. The only person, I'm familiar with, who became UOTD by request, was Rocky, who became UOTD post mortem by a special action by Anderson, I think. And because of that, Rocky was UOTD several days untill the lottery was started again.

So yes, I'm pretty sure it's a big lottery, some's number are drawed after only a little time, while other's numbers seems never to be drawed, even they have contributed a lot more than other UOTD's.
