I guess this is another way to show how Windows has spoiled people.
It's strange to find out how many people don't know that when you delete something off your PC that it's still there and someone can still get to your info that you "think" you have removed.
Those of us that grew up with C64 or DOS know this.

I think.

I have seen stories from across the pond, on how you could buy a 'new' harddrive and it came with someones info already on it!

Try a program like window washer. It overwrites(washes) the deleted data.
There's others out there that do the same thing.

Eraser 5.7 works just fine. After 35 passovers with digital white noise...problem is it takes forever to do the entire HD.

The reason I started this thread was based on the news story I saw on TV where people would give their PC's to some club so they could upgrade. They would simply "delete" the stuff on the hard drive and thought they were ok. They didn't understand that only the directory was deleted so that the space on the drive was marked as free by the PC to be used later.

When Windows came out and people got away from the "background" stuff working on their PC they got spoiled. Then like I said some have no clue!!

Ricky

BTW Thanks for the input!!!!

The only people who really have anything to worry about are those how are somehow breaking the law, and those uneducated ones who will scream like murder when someone steals their identity.
