Don't US prisons check what their inmates are doing online?

He hacked the energy systems in 1999, he was arrested in 2002 for a different crime. They just pinned the 1999 crime on him, and are adding more years to his prison term.

Yeah they got free broadband and free cable TV in prison, well sign me up! I cannot wait to surf the web and watch cable TV all day at the tax-payers' expenses. Not only that but I got a special diet of only grade-A sirlion steak and other expensive food items due to my religion, which they have to feed me, or else risk violating my civil rights.

This id10t was more a terrorist than a hacker. No one in his right mind would do the things he did.

Ah for the good old days when a Hacker was someone who used to find new nifty ways to use computers and write software to do nifty things. Usually someone who learned how to use a computer by experimenting around rather than reading books. They used BASIC and the Peek/Poke commands to see what the memory addresses did on 8 bit machines and discovered double-hires modes for graphics and such. Now most of them contribute to Linux and other open source projects like BOINC.

North Korea spends a few million US dollars a year for CyberTerrorists to write viruses and break into networks and cause havok like this guy caused.
