...ever tried "./boinc_client --help" ? :-) NOOOooooooooo, not that! You want to scare him away forever never to return?! Paul's WiKi might be a little more friendly ;-) Ouch! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

.. but it really didnt like the -malign-double flag. It benched ok, nothing Any clues as to what's going wrong? That is suggestive of some data structure getting scrambled due to assumptions in the program code, or a miss-match with library routines. (Or a compiler bug?!) Taking out -malign-double produced a working client, ... M Indeed. It doesn't seem to be a compiler bug as it did the same thing with gcc-3.4 and gcc-4.0.2. I tried various combinations of optimization and flags to no avail. Same behaviour on both a p-iii and the athlon. 2005-11-02 13:55:52 [SETI@home] ACTIVE_TASKS::restart_tasks(); missing files 2005-11-02 13:55:52 [SETI@home] Unrecoverable error for result 30ap04ab.19195.21969.617326.185_0 (One or more missing files) 2005-11-02 13:55:53 [SETI@home] Aborting result 30ap04ab.19195.21969.617326.185_0: exceeded disk limit: 123145302310912.000000 > 500000.000000 Sure looks like some variable got twisted around there, sigh.
