I just wonder... Why do I get credit? Is there some payment for the use of my computers or is it just a way to keep score? Tried to find some info, but no luck. Should be some kind of payout from time to time. Or a prize when you get more than X points... What about t-shirts with Seti logo??? Hi Thomas:) Credits ar given for the science that your PC has done, you cant use it for any thing it is just for scoring and good clean competition:) T-shirts would be nice. Read more about credits in the boinc wiki. Scorpions - Wind Of Change |

Credits are often called 'bragging rights' in these fora. That's what they are: You can't buy anything with them, they're just a method to keep people at the stake because they want a good score. I don't expect The Lab to give extra prizes for reaching milestones - they sure have better use for their fundings. And - what do milestones mean at all? I think somebody squeezing the last cycle for Seti out of his old machine earns the same honour as someone who can afford a whole computer farm - they both devote themselves and their resources to this project. I think, however, credits might be a measure for paid DC in the future. And from this point of view it is a good thing to gather experience. :-)= Greybeard All about BOINC: BOINC-Wiki (by Paul D. I agree with barbarossa/Greybeard In their current form credits serve no real-world purpose but its great fun watching the number rise and trying to keep your RAC up :) Have fun ! mambo |

They shoud put up a webshop... If all users had t-shirts even more people get interested in the project. It could also be a good way to raise more money... Just a idea... They shoud put up a webshop... Please look in this thread and it's predecessor. The issue has been discussed there. "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |
