I think we neglected this and those poor people. Do you know where it is? Sure you do.....for Brits this is part of us. Our empire may have been an unwise thing by today's standards and thinking but the ties are so strong.

We have long connections as nations but I feel we forgot them these last 5 days. Over 25,000 dead and over 1,000,000 homeless SO FAR. How do we remember Katrina and forget this? What is wrong with us? They need us now...if you have any charity money left then this is the most deserving case on the planet right now. But we must ask ourselves this huge question about our prejudices? our forgetfullness? our unwillingness? our blatent disregard for those who are not northern hemisphere? God forgive us!

We being the US have not. The earthquakes have been all over the news here. As usual US troops are on the ground and in the air with assistance.

However, the single most charitiable act I saw was food being loaded on US Helicopters labeled "Food for the People of Pakistan from the People of India"..

I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue.

Yes it has been trying times for many people in the world lately Tsumamis, Hurricanes and Earthquakes.
Oz has committed about 10 million so far and people are heading over to lend a hand to the people of Pakistan.

I don't think anyone has forgotten them Tigher it is probably that we are licking our own wounds from the recent bomings in the U.K. and Bali but we do know where they are and are trying to get the aid to them.

Who is "we?" All of the above may apply to your forgetfullness, unwillingness, and blatent disregard, but that doesn't mean it applies to anyone else.
