But that's only the IP address I get from my router. Not the IP address I am using on the internet. ;)

Still, in all, thanks for the link. Works fine in Mozilla Suite.

Errm, Adblock from mozdev is for both Mozilla Suite and Firefox. Just hit upon the Adblock 0.5 d2 nightly 39 file and install it, close down Mozilla and restart it. You'll now have Adblock in the lower right corner of Moz, plus an entry under the Tools menu.

But Jord. I can block without adblock. Besides, I'm on my Unix PC which is where Mozilla thrives. And, the same thing can be done in Firefox without adblock. The way I see it, adblock is a waste of HD space when the browsers can already do the blocking. I don't need to waste any more HD space than needed. >:-) (-:<

....
Neener, neener, neener.... I'm still not using Firefox on this Unix box. I am, however, using Mozilla 5 and it just happens to have a setting to block images from specific sites. I just found it and set it NOT to display those damned danasoft.com, "slap you in the face with your IP address" signs. >:-) (-:<

Was going to mention that Siran; I think there is an equivalent function in internet exploder.
Another way for the more technically minded to try is to put the following entry in your hosts file, followed a CR (new line) '127.0.0.1 www.danasoft.com'. The gap between the number and the url is a tab character, the entry must be followed by a new line.
Once done anything that trys to load anything, from anywhere on the danasoft website, is looked up instantly on localhost, which doesn't have the requested info, so localhost instantly returns a 404, or broken picture error.

Ta ta, Ken P.

Bah hahahahahahahahaha....!!!! Why do I get the impression that you're NOT an Indecent Exposure fan? >:-) "Internet Exploder", that's good, I like it.

The block I found is simpler to use. Just enter the "offending" sites domain name such as, "danasoft.com" and ok it. No broken links, nothing. I like it. >:-) (-:<

The end is nigh, bwa ha ha

As long as you don't mind attacking a little grey plastic box that has two antennas sticking out of the top, Oh, I can hear it screaming in pain already! LOL :)

To be honest though, sometimes it's useful to have a reminder of ones IP address, but, I dare say that most folk don't want it preverbialy 'ramming down their throats' every time they see a BB posting, and for anyone that needs to know, they usually know how to find out their own IP, external internet facing or otherwise.

Just another two pennies worth

Ken P.

Its hardly being rammed down ones throat, its a few small numbers in a picture, were it a flashing banner occupying large amounts of the screen denying ones using of other services then i might see your point.

The point you seem to miss is that NO ONE needs or wants to see their IP address slapped in their face everytime they read a stupid post. Get the point now!?!?!?!? >:-( )-:<

I don't agree with you, Simonator. I actually use the Danasoft site myself to see my own IP as I get a dynamic IP (which had been quite usefull in a situation I was in recently!), even it's not that dynamic, I found out!

But these figures are annoying and see them in every post you and others do is extremely annoying. Just my oppinion! So I have blocked yours and others out with Adblock. Plus some of the most ugly sigs and other pics people enjoy to have as their sig. (I still see your sig though! :-) )

Please yourself, i find them interesting but then people do vary.

And just how do you find them interesting? Do you have access to the logs that record IP addresses? If so, what do you plan on doing with them? You can't see MY IP address, so how can that be interesting to you? There are 5 questions here, can you answer them logically....? >:-( )-:<

Hey, what can I say? I get here after everyone has posted and I have to get caught up. If I get six in a row, I get six in a row, just to do it. >:-P P-:<

Rick, if you call an app of around 300KB HD space wasting, I'll come slap you around them fake vulcan ears!

It's adding to the existing image filter:
Adblock is a content filtering plug-in for the Mozilla and Firebird browsers. It is both more robust and more precise than the built-in image blocker.

Adblock allows the user to specify filters, which remove unwanted content based on the source-address. If this sounds complicated, don't worry: it's not.

Just add a few filters. Every time a webpage loads, Adblock will intercept and disable the elements matching your filters. See?- nothing to it.

Easier to work with even, as you just click on Adblock and tell directly from the list which sites you want blocked, instead of needing to find out which site it is and then adding it to the Preferences-Privacy & Security sub categories.

I've run Mozilla Suite since long before it became main market. Since long before Firefox reared its ugly head. I know how to keep my Moz tight. This app just adds to it.

My friend, from your description, it sounds exactly like what Mozilla's Image Manager does. Unless Adblock does MORE than images.... >:-) (-:<

It does more than images. The images block in Moz doesn't block unwanted animated (SWF) ads.

Adblock will block any image or script on a web page. Say you frequent a page that requires java or javascript, but there are some flashy little applets or scripts that are distracting, take forever to load, and don't add functionality to the page. Just Adblock them.

Plus, it understands regular expressions, (regex) so a filter like this will block many different types of advertising banners without you having to do a thing.

/(\Wadv|banner|promo)s?(\.(?!wunder)\w+\.\w{2,3}(\.\w{2,2})?/|\W\w*\d+x\d+\.)(?!banners)/

And no, you don't need to actually understand what all that means. Some people like Filterset.G maintain and regularly update filter lists so you can stay current. They currently have an extension in beta that automatically syncs the list.
