Message 148975 - Posted: 9 Aug 2005, 6:48:58 UTC

How do you remove one or more of the replies you made to a message, if a problem in the editing made more than one copy of the message appear? Noting that all were edited copies of the first with slightly different text. How do I remove those errent message duplicates? In one when I finished the message. I hit the OFF TOPIC button. What does it mean? Thanks

Above your own posts there is a notice [Edit this post].
You can edit during one hour after writing the post, afterward you can't change them anymore.

What about the button "Off Topic"? What does it mean? And the original question: How can I delete errant copies of the message? If you select back after you clicked the "POST REPLY" button to get back to the message to correct it. It has put another copy of the message on the system. That happens also when you click the "EDIT MESSAGE" button. I was only able to remove the text from the text frames, but couldn't remove the extra errant /incomplete message copies. Thanks

What about the button "Off Topic"? What does it mean?

It is used to signal that a post does not correspond to the thread's topic.

How can I delete errant copies of the message? If you select back after you clicked the "POST REPLY" button to get back to the message to correct it. I think you can not delete but just empty them. That's why I wrote about editing.

I will after this post open two further posts. For the first I will use the off topic button, the second I will empty.

See what happened?

The 'off topic' gave the first post a rating of -1.

It was possible to empty the second post, but it remained in the thread.

Now you could go and try to give this post a 'this answered my question'...
