Hi, I too rcvd the "-1 Error" message when trying to download a new work unit with the Classic SETI client. So... I uninstalled my classic client and downloaded and installed the new BOINC client. Right now, the BOINC client is not receiving any work units, but I understand this is a server problem, so I'll be patient. What concerns me more is when I checked my profile and settings, my credit for "Classic" work untis is about 182 units short of what it should be. Will this be reconciled when the final cutover takes place? Also, I have several classic clients still running elsewhere and I wanted to know if there is any problem with this until I have a chance to cut them all over to the new BOINC client? Thanks. |

AFAIK the 'old' credits will not be migrated. When your account was copied to BOINC some time ago, they took your credits at this time. Since these stats won't have any affect on the new BOINC stuff, it would be useless to transfer all old stats to BOINC. (Imagine the amount of data to be transferred for all users, especially now when transitioners can hardly keep up with current demand). So my advice would be to use BOINC as far as you can get any WUs (good for your stats) and if BOINC isn't working, temporarily return to Seti Classic (good for science). Regards from Switzerland |
