I learned about the Boinc switch just today. I had been using the classic Seti@Home client up until then. When I went to this page: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_email_form.php to activate my exisitng Seti@Home account with the new Boinc service / client. I entered the email address of my Seti@Home account, it said that it couldn't find my email address or something like that. So I created a new account at this page: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/create_account_form.php with the same email I had just tried to use in the activation form (the email address I have been using with the classic Seti@Home). Now I have this Boinc accout that doesn't show any of my stats from the classic Seti@Home. Is there any way to fix this? Here are my stats.: islndboi@earthlink.net Your credit: Name (and URL) IsLNdbOi Results Received 280 Total CPU Time 1339 hr 36 min Average CPU Time per work unit 4 hr 47 min 03.4 sec Average results received per day 1.42 Last result returned: Sun Jul 18 07:30:29 2004 UTC Registered on: Sun Jan 4 09:10:28 2004 UTC View Registration Class SETI@home user for: 4716 hr 43 min View User Profile Your group info: You belong to the group named: You are not currently the founder of any teams. You should have no problem activating your old account. Now that you have created a new account with the same address as your old SETI account, rename the new account to another e-mail address you use. Then try activating your old account again, you might have entered it incorrectly the first time. |

I then went to try to activate my old account and I just keep getting this message: No account with the email address islndboi@earthlink.net was found. -------------------------- I went back to this page: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ and put in my old account address in the user profile page: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/account_area.html islndboi@earthlink.net and it's still there. Here are my stats.: islndboi@earthlink.net Your credit: Name (and URL) IsLNdbOi Results Received 280 Total CPU Time 1339 hr 36 min Average CPU Time per work unit 4 hr 47 min 03.4 sec Average results received per day 1.41 Last result returned: Sun Jul 18 07:30:29 2004 UTC Registered on: Sun Jan 4 09:10:28 2004 UTC View Registration Class SETI@home user for: 4751 hr 21 min View User Profile Your group info: You belong to the group named: Intel® Corporation You are not currently the founder of any teams. The number of users who have this rank: 1101 You have completed more work units than 88.973% of our users. ------------------------------- So why can't I activate this with the new BOINC service in this page: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_email_form.php |

Did you by any chance change the e-mail address of your original account after May 15th? If you did, BOINC is looking for your older address. That is the only reason I can think of that BOINC would not be able to find your SETI classic address. |
