I have updated to the boinc version now....does this mean that i can now remove/uninstall the original seti@home prog that i ran for years ? Yes, that means you can. However, I would hold off completely removing/uninstalling the Classic S@H program until BOINC has all it's bugs worked out or the SETI ADMIN tells us you can no longer use the Classic S@H program because they are shutting it down. You can just exit/close down the Classic S@H program while running BOINC. Then, if you are having trouble with BOINC (ie. no work available, server down, whatever,etc...) you can just pause BOINC and run the Classic S@H and still be crunching away. Of course, with BOINC, you can also sign up for other projects. The only other one working right now is Predictor@home. You can check it out here: http://predictor.scripps.edu/ Ranz |
