After watching Tom Cruise’s ranting the last couple of weeks on tv I had decided NOT to see his new movie War of the Worlds. Well my wife dragged me kicking and screaming to the movie and I was right. Tom Cruise has no brain! Do Tom a favor and keep your money in your own pocket. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Same goes for movies with John Revolta and Christy Alleycat. They've been reprogrammed by Lafayette R. Hubby; a rather poor example of a sci-fi writer, nut case, and cult guru. Account frozen... |

So many remakes over the past few years. Hollywood needs to pack it in, they've run out of ideas... To truly explore, one must keep an open mind... |

i already know what happens...the martians DIE! I don't go to the movies very often. I think the last time was 2 or 3 years ago. I wait for the DVD and REALLY save money by not having to pay every time I watch it. This one'll be a DVD I will pass up. I'd rather watch "The Sound of Music" than Tom Cruise.... >:-) CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. So many remakes over the past few years. Hollywood needs to pack it in, they've run out of ideas... You ain't kidding! Remember the "Lost in Space" movie? I thought it stunk. Only watched it once. And, that's not to say that the original was any better, either. CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. “WE KNOW NOW that in the early years of the twentieth century, this world was being watched closely by intelligences greater than man’s, and yet as mortal as his own. We know now that as human beings busied themselves about their various concerns, they were scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. “With infinite complacence, people went to and fro over the Earth about their little affairs, serene in the assurance of their dominion over this small, spinning fragment of solar driftwood, which, by chance or design, man has inherited out of the dark mystery of Time and Space. “Yet across an immense ethereal gulf, minds that are to our minds as ours are to the beasts in the jungle, intellects vast, cool, and unsympathetic, regarded this planet with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us. “In the thirty–ninth year of the twentieth century came the great disillusionment. It was near the end of October. Business was better. The war scare was over. More men were back at work. Sales were picking up. On this particular evening, October 30th, the Crosley service estimated that thirty–two million people were listening in on radios…” Close your eyes and tune in your mind. My wife and I watched the movie. It was OK as an adventure film, but it was not in any way a science fiction movie. If you expect a science fiction movie you will be disappointed. "Independence Day" was the more entertaining, "I, Robot" (the movie, not the book or fine screenplay) was less entertaining. The alien invasion itself was more believable than the humans interacting with Tom Cruise or some of the human reactions to the invasion. |
