My account shows WUs as of March 2005, but I have completed 1000 more since then, running classic under Linux 'cause I cant get BONIC under linux to work, some libc problem. (the SW should come with everything it needs, and not be dependent on my exact level of every package in the linux universe) I cant be upgrading packages just for seti if that might screw up my system.

Question, should I give up running under Linux cause the results arent usble under the BOINC pgm, not being totaled in my account? since March 2005?

From http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/transition.php :

We turn off the data server for Classic. Classic will no longer send workunits or accept results. Functions to update account information are disabled. We update the BOINC account database with current information from SETI@home Classic one final time. At this point the Classic statistics are frozen (though we may continue to eliminate 'cheaters').

The classic results are still being counted but wont be added till the next update probably after they close classic for good.

And i know it is a pain believe me i had some headaches installing boinc on linux but you should be updating those packages for your own good and once you get it working it run's like a dream.
