My computers seem to have stopped downloading work units since about 3:00AM this morning (Monday 6/20/05). Is everything OK? |

You don't have any computers attached, that might be part of the problem. To attach your computer to SETI open the BOINC manager, select the project tab then click on the "Attach to new project" button. Enter the URL and Account ID you received in the email when you activated your SETI BOINC account. |

I recently installed the BOINC manager and successfully attached to the SETI project. Unfortunately, only one piece of "work" is downloaded and worked on, then endless "insufficeint work: requesting more" messages appear. Each time I detach and reattach, a new project is begun (and I can see the fun graphics) -- then the same thing 6/20/2005 10:20:22 PM|SETI@home|Computation for result 29fe04aa.15717.17137.872154.155_3 finished 6/20/2005 10:20:23 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 29fe04aa.15717.17137.872154.155_3_0 6/20/2005 10:20:25 PM|SETI@home|Finished upload of 29fe04aa.15717.17137.872154.155_3_0 6/20/2005 10:20:25 PM|SETI@home|Throughput 446784 bytes/sec 6/20/2005 10:20:26 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 6/20/2005 10:20:26 PM|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 1 results 6/20/2005 10:20:27 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 6/20/2005 10:48:18 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 6/20/2005 10:48:18 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 6/20/2005 10:48:18 PM|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 0 results 6/20/2005 10:48:19 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 6/20/2005 11:00:09 PM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 12:00:10 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 1:00:11 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 2:00:12 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 3:00:13 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 4:00:14 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 5:00:15 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 6:00:16 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 7:00:16 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more 6/21/2005 8:00:17 AM||Insufficient work; requesting more |

I have the answer! In my case, the button "No new work" is misleading, but in any case must say "No new work" to download new work. Otherwise, you install it and only one initial project is downloaded, then nada. the Goddess |
