Hi, don't get my boincmgr running. Boinc is running, I started it for several times today, each time no problem. When I start boincmgr, it says connect: Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt connect: Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt execvp(/boinc) failed with error 2! connect: Die Operation ist jetzt in Bearbeitung init_poll: get_socket_error(): 111 init_poll: get_socket_error(): 111 already tried both ports, giving up I then tried to insert my ID, but it doesn't seem to remember it, still fails. Any ideas? Rolf |

Rolf |

Place a remote_hosts.cfg file with the line 127.0.0.1 in your /BOINC directory. This _might_ help as your problem _seems_ to be boincmgr connecting to boinc. There is a German Boinc FAQ here Deutsche BOINC FAQ and a good manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.<br /> EDIT: Unfortunately neither site seems to say what a 'init_poll: get_socket_error(): 111' is, sorry :( PS: Have you tried passing your account key and the host address to boinc on the command line when you start it. eg: ./boinc -attach_project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu df0d93e384a2700f70e0bc45a1b2c96c use the host name and account key you recieved in the email Need help? I have reproduced your error by trying to start boincmgr while boinc was not running. Under linux boincmgr will not automatically start boinc. Check if this was the problem in your case. Good Luck! I guess this was the reason: I have reproduced your error by trying to start boincmgr while boinc was not running. Under linux boincmgr will not automatically start boinc. I always started boincmgr without having started boinc before. Now it seems to run. Is it right, it doesn't show the computation in progress as a graphic as I remember from a former Windows version? It just shows tables with statistics. And as four of the things are still running while I'm writing this, the "Show Graphics" button stays disabled, right? Well, thanks a lot for your help! Rolf |
