Hey
I have tried to run boinc on a laptop and it looks like the above mentioned option doesn't work (yet?)?

Tested on WindowsXP Sp1 with boinc 3.20 and
tested on Debian/GNU Linux Kernel 2.6.7 and boinc 3.18

or did I miss something?

You need to have your preferences updated on your PC. Either by using the "Update" function available in the tab "Projects" or by shutting down the GUI and start it over again.
If a change is made in the preferences, you should be able to see a message in the tab "Messages" saying that your preferences has been updated after you change one of the settings.

Greetings from Belgium.

No change :(
btw: no is the default and I never changed it, so that host surey has the right preferences.

You can make a very simple search by using the message search.

Got to say, I'm having exactly the same problem on a win 2K installation. I've been through the updating prefs, etc. My laptop knows it's running on batteries. Given the number of comments on this in various threads, perhaps it's a problem.

It's not the same problem
I tried to use home work and school
'suspsend by time' and 'while user is working' are working fine.
The only option not working with windows (working with linux since I self compiled it).
So it IS a windows-client problem. (I couldn't test it by self-compiling since I don't have a windows C-Compiler environment working)
