I'm sure CW read the link, and so did I. Those so-called "experts" simply bemoaned the state of the economy and said something had to be done. Oh, and they gave their misleading numbers (25 or 35 year totals) to make their predictions sound scary (it appears to have fooled you). Now, to be fair, it might have been the reporter who failed to include their solutions. In fact, the closest they came to a "solution" was that one guy said increase taxes and the other said lower spending . . . but Congress has been talking about those things all along.

as to the edit.... yes there was a very small difference between how much cuts and increases each organisation was estimating..... but they both recognized the problem and they both offered solutions which included cuts and increased taxes.....
