Looks like you have. Not ony have you crunched your first unit, but it's been validated to and you have been granted the credit. Welcome, Live Long and Crunch |

Welcome Chris, Congratulations on your jump from Classic to Boinc. It was a strange jump for many of us at first, but things tend to fall right into place. At least Boinc gives us the option to run several projects at a time as you will see. Visit the Home Page and Forums and get yourself familiar with all the happenings. If your not familiar, Paul Buck has a wonderful site filled with info on almost every aspect of Boinc you can find it here: http://boinc-doc.net/index.php When looking at the download page, always use the "recommended version" of Boinc. You will notice that there are "development versions". They are buggy, and cause problems. Feel free to use them to locate bugs, but remember they are "developmental". Again, Welcome, and Happy Crunching! Respectfully, Rocky www.boincsynergy.com |

Thankyou in advance
Welcome Chris. To help you out we do have some "lessons learned" and it does save "wear and tear" if you do a little homework too... Most of the common questions and terms are gathered on my site. If there are things you can't find or don't understand we can call advice from the shore ... or heck, even explain it. Seriously, the explanations there are much more complete with examples than what we can easily tell you here. And if you tell me that it is unintelligable, well, we can fix that too ... |

Welcome AussieChris. The newness of BOINC can be kind of freaky at first. SETI classic was like an old comfortable shoe. BOINC has gotten broke in a bit. Here is a great place to check your status. BOINCstats.com (pops) |

Welcome to the club, Chris! I've made this transition about a month ago and I wouldn't go back! Boinc not only feels like you are doing more, it actually does more. More science, more fun with more projects. Great community - you won't miss the Classic! Cheers! Karel KPX |

Hi All Does this mean i have crunched my "First" BOINC WU???? Chris
Yes, not only crunched your first BOINC WU, but gotten credit for it -- at times you will see a lag for the validation process (each submitted WU needs to be crosschecked by at least three other computers before a pending credit finds its way to recognized credit. Welcome into BOINC land -- I'm keeping a foot in classic to make sure I end up in the top 500 at the end of Seti Classic (whenever that is), but I joined BOINC last year and started moving some of my cruncher farm over to BOINC about two months ago. I've even started activity in a second BOINC project (Einstein) -- one of the plusses of BOINC is the ability to crunch for multiple projects -- which can be nice if one of the projects goes offline. There are some tweaking tips out there for BOINC... |
