Is there a problem with the server? I have already configured the proxy since I need it.

It looks as if there was a trailing space at the end of the URL that you joined with. BOINC can be very picky about this. I would suggest detaching and reattaching. However, right now wil not be a good time as the servers are down, and an attach may not work correctly.

Bah! That so-called 'News' is pretty stale.

It says "outages may occur throughout the night and possibly tomorrow". Well, 'the night' has come and gone, as has 'tomorrow', and we're now approaching the day after tomorrow. And nothing new on this 'News'.

Would it be so hard to update that 'News' just once or twice a day? I'm sure they are busy trying to fix the problems, but just leaving us all hanging here in the dark is making the problem worse. Half the messages on the problems board are related to "can't get work units", "can't connect", "no work available", etc. All this thrashing by worried users must be putting an additional load on the servers. Even a short News update like "Thur, July 14, 8pm -- still recovering from server problems -- Please be patient." would reassure a lot of users.

P.S. I signed up for a Predictor account, and connected to them via Boinc. They sent me a whole bunch of workunits right away, and continue to function fine. So I guess I'll just work for them until Seti comes back to life. At least my CPU cycles aren't going to waste in the meantime.
