I get a 404 error when I try to visit the site. Also Boinc Synergy stats site has no stats for it.

I was getting peculiar errors earlier tonight (I didn't copy down the specifics), but it seems to be working now.

Some recent difficulties at CPDN seem almost "SETI-like." Couldn't resist.

http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2887&start=60

I was just able to get through on their forums. Apparently the trickle server was running low on disk space. It seems they are on top of it and should be back to normal very soon. Since I am currently running SETI and CPDN the recent combined outages droppped my BOINC standing by almost 50 places! LOL. Tomorrow's another day and I know I can make it up soon.

Happy Crunching, everybody.

Carl answered in my thread:

the database is at 100% disk space utilization so it's just thrashing away and no room for new requests, trickles, etc. I've told the relevent (remaining!) people at Oxford, so hopefully they can get someone on it as it's a bit more work than I can do from here (and for free! :-)

They have a similiar kind of staff and computer shortage. Let's wait, they'll fix it :)

Aloha, Uli

I just got "Connection refused" error when trying to go over there.

With the disks at full, or near full, capacity; we will see intermittent operation of the system. THis will be shown as "crashes" of the database, inability to connect, etc.

An hour ago my climate trickled without problem and I can see it on my account page. Maybe they took care of the lack of storage space.

98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

I see from the boards there that a few people have managed to get their trickles recorded onto their respective pages. Unfortunately I've got 2 that still haven't made it there yet. I had one go out the 5th and again 1 from last night and still nothing shows on my page. I've seen where some people there are recommending that you suspend network & crunch until later. That may be fine if you are only crunching for them. It would be nice if there was an actual link that showed if the trickle server was up or not, but they don't have that. Apparently the guy who can fix most of the problems they are having right now is on vacation for a few more days. They have a few people there that have already freed up a little bit of space on the servers, but until he gets back they are flying by the seats of their pants.

Add the problems of 4.38 not letting you manually update only makes the situation more frustrating.

I'd roll back to my previous version of BOINC to eliminate the update issue, but 4.30 was a dev version and nowhere to be found now...

So I'll wait for the newer version (4.39?) and see what happens there.

FWIW, individual trickles really don't matter, it's the final one that does.
