Just upgraded to 4.37 (installed over 4.36)
Seems to work Ok.
Ran Benchmarks, then immediately Failed Scheduler request and deferred for 1m0s.
Clicked Update Project and it connected fine.

Cannot say much about multi-project scheduling as I only run 1 (SETI).

No problems with the schedulers, but I finally ran into the CPDN problem:

07/05/2005 02:48:45|climateprediction.net|Requesting 43200.00 seconds of work
07/05/2005 02:48:45|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi

07/05/2005 02:48:49|climateprediction.net|Finished download of 3jbu_200186677.zip

07/05/2005 02:48:49||schedule_cpus: must schedule

Hello? My other CPDN unit is exactly 26.5 hours into its run at 2.40%... it'll take another 1081 hours to run at least. Why do I get a new Climate unit? ;)
(I just checked the deadline for that unit. It's 12 days later than the one I have... I must hurry. ;))

I uninstalled 4.35 and installed 4.37 clean. I also see that the Statistics are in this one. :)

so far so good

here's the new features and known issues from the download page:

New features
A new scheduler has been written for the client-side application so the client can be attached to many more without missing deadlines.
Fixes a bug in which Intellisense/Intellipoint closes applications while in screensaver mode.
Fixes bugs with managed deployments with Active Directory.
A new 'Select Computer' dialog remembers which computers you have connected to.
A new statistics tab has been added to the BOINC manager (thanks to Jens Breitbart for the great feature).
Support for UMTS networks.
Numerious usability fixes.
Fixed connectivity problems on all platforms.
Support for account management websites.
Password protection for GUI access.
BOINC Manager now sports a new button based interface which replaces the html based interface in previous versions.
BOINC Manager now is built with wxWidgets 2.6.0
Symbol files (*.pdb) have been removed from the installer to help out those on dialup connections. We were not receiving very many, if any crashes in the last few months. We'll make the symbol files available as a seperate download.

Known issues
Applications that were built before October 2004 do not display screensaver graphics with the Service or Shared install type, or the Single-user install type with the password protect screensaver option on NT based machines.
If BOINC runs at the same time as Windows XP 3D screensavers, the system becomes sluggish and unresponsive.
Same issues for dialup users as 4.25.
Same issues for ATI graphics cards as 4.25.

OH and don't forget the disclaimer:

Warning this is Developmental Software, Use at own risk, stay with the "Official Release" clients if you're squimish

Errrm... the below picture kinda defies the question, right?

Really now, for I can't even think of it, but please someone tell me why? ;)

Hmm. Well, yes, we all would *like* it to make intelligent decisions, but it's only a computer ;-)

I think the "new feature" in 4.37 is that the stats tab seems to be working (again).

4.36 gave me a couple of totally unneeded CPDN WU's, but I think I'll be able to complete them OK as long as it doesn't give me any more!
-----
BTW, I'm beginning to like the new UI, now that the blue box is gone :-)

I can only see stats for 2 of my projects... is this because the others have less than 24 h of crunching time?? or is there a way to scroll through my remaining projects?

It takes approximately 3 days for the others to show up, Lizz. Since it's a statistic, it needs a tad more than 24 hours. ;-)

Oh, LHC is allowed to run for 2 hours, the unit that is stalled there ran for 27 minutes. Then it switched back to Einstein.

My stats page shows all 4 projects I run going back 25 days.

@ageless, this multiple CPDN issue is known, what's unknown is when it'll be fixed.

[edit] Ageless, have you read all of johns' posts in the 4.35 and 4.36 threads? In the 4.35 Debt Question thread, John describes how much of this "Debt" thing works.

LOL, I asked most of it myself. ;)

But neither in 4.35 nor in 4.36 did I run into the extra CPDN unit. It was the first thing to come in when I installed and ran 4.37, directly after the benchmarks.

So as we're testing the new software, it's prudent to tell of anything weird.

Like the inability to get rid of the lined box in the Work tab, after you've singled a unit out (then the whole thing is blue) and just clicked on a blank space elsewhere. Usually the box would go away, now it stays. Same goes for the Messages tab. The box will go away there if you click on the left side of the screen (underneath the buttons someplace), but will re-appear if you click in the messages tab itself again.

@Ageless - If you make the whole window a little wider, or drag the right-most column separator on the page a little to the left to expose some blank space, then click in there, it removes the selection. :-)

I usually leave a scroll bar's width of space on the right so I don't get a scoll bar on the bottom too... just leave a teensy bit more and you can always click in it.

A) It's a maximized window.
B) I already said, that clicking in open space doesn't work for me. That means below the list.

I don't have 100 units waiting, you know. ;)

OK, I misunderstood, sorry. Works for me, maximized or not.

Did this just start happening in 4.37? On more than 1 machine?

I only have one machine. Don't let my computers throw you off, besides Linux doesn't use 4.37 yet afaik. ;)

edit: the LHC unit ran for 2 seconds more and then went up. Yay! :-D

It won't until tonight when the new tar.gz is generated and I can compile a new client for this computer. The rest are Windows clients and I'll switch over to 4.37 after the weekend.

/wondering if my benchmarks will improve... probably not

Oh crud: I thought I had this one fixed.

Do you know what the LT debts were? Do you have a dual processor? Was there a CPU idle? Was there some project that should have been getting work? What is your queue size?

Do you know what the LT debts were?

Not what they were, but they are at this moment:
Ssshh -13595.917574 (you know the one, Chrischan is doing it)
Climate -4208.884810
Einstein 814.638367
LHC 6505.370680
Pirates 5780.975946
Seti 4703.817390

Do you have a dual processor? Was there a CPU idle?

Nope and nope. The P4 Celeron that I have doesn't do Hyperthreading.

Was there some project that should have been getting work?

Nope, I checked stdoutdae.txt on that. No requesting work until a good hour + later by Pirates.

What is your queue size?

For CPDN 0.1 days.
For most other projects between 0.1 and 0.5 days.

If it's any consolation, John, the scheduler seems to work fine now I look further:
07/05/2005 07:41:48|LHC@home|Sending scheduler request to http://lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch/scheduler/cgi
07/05/2005 07:41:59|LHC@home|Scheduler request to http://lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch/scheduler/cgi succeeded
07/05/2005 07:42:01||May run out of work in 0.50 days; requesting more
07/05/2005 07:42:01|LHC@home|Requesting 176.25 seconds of work
07/05/2005 07:42:04|LHC@home|Started download of v64lhc.D1-D2-MQonly-inj-no-skew-36s6_8520.7692_1_sixvf_202.zip

07/05/2005 07:42:05|LHC@home|Throughput 381239 bytes/sec

Yet I never got that request for CPDN. It just [bang] downloaded a new unit.
