I tend to enjoy the instrumentals in a song more than the vocals. How the instrumentals flow makes the whole song.

Mostly I use music more as background noise than anything else these days but always enjoy a well written piece that has more than just drums, a keyboard and a guitar or two in it.

To truly explore, one must keep an open mind...

ahh, music. Another one of my big passions :) That's propably why I like a very wide ranger of styles and genres. Lyrics aren't that important to me, but the composition of the vocals are - if there are any, as I like instrumental music just as much (would be strange otherwise as most of my own music is instrumental).

It's funny about music and me - as I've found lots of music that I enjoy no matter which mood I'm in.

Currently I'm listening to two Danish bands, Blue Foundation (which I find resembles Massive Attack alot but not deliberately copying the style) and Swan Lee which is very different in both style and genre. But these bands have in common that they do posses international potential.

Man, I've been listening to some Type O Negative lately. I really only knew Black No. 1 and Christian Woman well, but I discovered lately that there are some other awesome songs from these guys like My Girlfriend's Girlfriend, Stay Out of My Dreams, Gravitational Constant, and the funny Jimmy Hendrixish Hey Pete.

My Girlfriend's Girlfriend

It's no secret we're close - as sweaty velcro
like latex fur and feathers - stuck together

Now - in their '62 vette - sharing one cigarette
in a black light trance then - go go dance - then
go go trance - then

They keep me warm on cold nights - it must be quite a sight
in our meat triangle - all tangled - wow

My girlfriend's girlfriend - she looks like - you
my girlfriend's girlfriend - she's my girl - too

Her and me and her and she and me - an uncrowded couple are we
three
hey we don't care - what people say - when walking hand in hand
down kings highway
two for one today

My girlfriend's girlfriend - she looks like - you
my girlfriend's girlfriend - she's my girl - too

My girlfriend's girlfriend - she looks like - you
my girlfriend's girlfriend - she's my girl

Only twice before has the Smithsonian Institution mounted exhibits for individual artists-
-For Duke Ellington & for Ella Fitzgerald

But now Celia Cruz is the third-
And what better choice?

@rattelshcneck:

This link is for the Rockpalast archive!

Brings lots of memory back! Ahhh!!! :-D Specially the rock nights from Grugahalle in Essen!

I'll look for Udo Lindenberg in English, but I don't think his lyrics have been translated.

Hey Fuzzy,
thanks for the link! WOW, this is great stuff. I really enjoyed it.

Since I wasn't really successful finding a English translation for Udo's song I started to translate it by myself. But i'm not pretty sure if I will ever finish. It isn't easy at all.

I wonder how music today would have sounded, if it hasn't been for this guy!

Synthesiser pioneer Dr Moog dies

As someone who plays synths, this is very sad to hear. :(
