You have 7 computers listed. Why not dedicate one for playing games?

Wow, Boinc is automatically set to "Low" priority, when any other program calls for the CPU, Boinc should release it immediately. does TTD work with the Boinc Manager OFF? Which Core client are you running? 4.19, 4,25 etc. Do you have boinc set to "run always" under the file menu? You might try unchecking it.

That's odd. I don't have TTD, but I regularly play games and BOINC is more than happy to give up the resources.

BOINC is automatically set to low priority

I opened Excel earlier today and watched (as I had Task Manager open also) that the resources went to Excel and after closing Excel the resources went back to the "project"
No matter where you go, there you are...

If it's the same Transport Tycoon Deluxe game I have and haven't played in a while, it may have to do with the fact it runs out of the command prompt and is not a true Windows game. My TTD game states that it is recommended to reboot into the command prompt and play from there rather than run it directly out of Windows as it will be sluggish running in Windows mode. My TTD is several years old so I could have an older version than he has but it's just a thought as to what could be wrong.

To truly explore, one must keep an open mind...

Running TTDpatch 2.36alpha under windows XP, it seems to handle resources correctly. If your still running the original (I can't even play the original anymore. Partly cos it wont run on NT based windows, mostly cos it dosent have pre-signals) try getting TTDpatch.
