I recently had to reinstall my computer and Boinc now has it under a different number. I want to merge the new id with the old but when I select the link to merge the computers It does not show any computers. I notice that Boinc now detects my AMD processor as a different type.

Could that be the problem? And if it is, how do I fix it?

But patience is a virtue!
Once all the results for the 'old' machine are purged, you can delete it.
Until then, nothing can be done.
