Hello I heard talkin' about a boincview that works with the boinc 4.25 but not with the 4.19. What's the boincview? Thank you. Bye Gerone Roberto |

BoincView is very very cool! I've been playing with it for a few days now after re-installing Boinc 4.25 as a service, and the combination seems to be working great. Much more functionality than with Boinc Manager, and i'm only running one host. I've noticed my WinXP (SP2) system in general seems a lot less sluggish now too, although i'm not certain if that's related to installing Boinc as a service, or of not using Boinc Manager anymore. Regardless, the responsiveness of my machine while running other tasks (Word, Excel, MSN, etc.) seems to have taken a turn for the better after making these changes. :) Thanks, Dig |

> BoincView is very very cool! It sounds cool, but I went looking for it, and at least at the time it seems that the web pages would not render in FireFox. I won't go there with I.E. |

They don't pop up as balloons, but when you hover over a button the tooltip is displayed at the bottom of the BoincView screen. I tell you this only because i overlooked it myself for a while, expecting the little balloon-type tooltips. Dig EDIT: Dang, Tigher beat me to it! LoL. |

> but what does it do? Pretty much the same as the BOINC manager. But functions aren't hidden behind tabs, and you can get an overview of all wu's etc on all your computers. And you can control all your computers without having to switch between then as you would do in BOINC manager. And then it's a different kind of display ;) |

(am i missing something here?) . No matter where you go, there you are... |

The feature i like the best is being able to disable work unit downloads for a specific project, which allows you to deplete all of your work units (for instance, if going on vacation, or if taking a hiatus from one particular project). It's easy enough to download and play around with. It won't interfere with your current setup or ability to still use Boinc Manager. :) Dig |

(am i missing something > here?) Well, the boinc manager is the standard manager that goes with the core client. So when you get the client you also get the manager and vice versa ;) I don't know, however, how integrated the manager and client are in each other. |
