Just to make sure I got this right - Seti/Predictor etc update automatically. The boinc framework dosent. So does this mean that when the time to upgrade to the latest boinc arrives I have to detach from the projects - download and reinstall the latest boinc.
Will this keep the old machine ID?. Its a lot of work with 11 machines and 1 old modem (no broadband)

Don't detach.
You just have to overwrite the existing software.

Usually. Occasionally the project code will crash when this is done, but this is rare.
