Mine was reading as 1999 before as well. Technically this might actually be accurate, as I first learned about this project and started crunching in school (I was gone awhile between then and now). I had thought I'd used the same account info before and somehow it had "caught up" with me. But now it's changed back, and the current date of 2003 is definitely accurate for when I reopened my account. Something wierd is happening with the dates, I guess. |

This has been happening since the second data transfer from Classic to BOINC. I'm not real sure, but I believe it's being looked at. Oh, it's happening to users who have activated their Classic account at BOINC as well. I read some speculation, but nothing specific. L8R.... Once they close down Classic, they should go through the users from classic and weed out the inactive ones, even if they have a few WUs crunched, if they haven't been active for at least a year, get rid of the account. Once that's done they need to do the same with the BOINC accounts. Once we get rid of the 0 credit accounts, we won't have the trolls we have now. Without the account, no posting. If someone starts an account and starts posting, and posts with 0 credit, after a month, get rid of the account. They obviously don't have a life and are bored and aren't going to crunch anyway. Get rid of the rifraf! L8R.... T'Khasi Time: Sunday, 27 March 2005 - 08:40 PM --800 (Pacific Standard Time) CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. Actually the problem with the Apr 3, 1999 registration date started after the last snapshot. They did something to correct the registered date problem that caused the older classic users dates to be off by a couple of days. First they got it right and then something happened that caused everybody to have the Apr 3, 1999 registered date. When they corrected that problem some people were left with the Apr 3, 1999 date. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate they are working on the problem. This problem has nothing to do with accounts with zero credits or inactive accounts. |

Yet it says I joined April 3rd 1999 too. [EDIT] Wow!! post 750...[ENDEDIT] I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue. Hello everybody, My startup date for Seti is 26 Oct 2004 19:04:12 UTC (according to Neil Mundays banner a few days after the mix-up). I never crunched for classic, and I'm one of those virtual pioneers as well. I've already made a screenshot for future bragging, so I'm ready for the new correction ;) I have posted in two threads over at Questions and Problems, but never anybody of the wizzards answered. It occured with the corrections after the second screenshot, and took a while with my account to prolifer over to Neil, that's why I still have my real date written down on my puter. As I like to have this more up, I'll bump this as well. |
