Is there any way to stop the seti @hoem graphics moving around as id like to read what it says :(

If not can I just stick the classic?

Plus I thought the whole idea of boinc was to have 2 projects running at once?

This might not be a long term solution, but just left click in the graphics box and keep the button down.

You can have two or more projects running together, but they will never run at once. They run round robin depending of your settings. Default setting is 60 minutes, which means that one project runs 60 minutes, is being paused and then one other project starts to run also after your setting.

Before I took up a third project, ProteinPrediction, I ran Einstein 120 minutes and then Seti 60 minutes. Now I run each 60 minutes round robin.

How to set the screensaver graphic to be static (no rotation)...

click the link for 'your account'
on your account page, click the link for 'View or edit SETI@home preferences'
on the next page, click the link for 'Edit SETI@home preferences'
on the next page, in the pull down box for 'Graphics preferences' choose 'Custom'
at the bottom of the page click the 'Update preferences' button
on the next page, for 'Horizontal oscillation range' and 'Vertical oscillation range' enter '0'
at the bottom of the page click the 'Update preferences' button
you will see a message on the next page stating
'Your preferences have been updated. They will take effect when your computer communicates with SETI@home or you issue the "Update" command from the BOINC client.' (note: it really should read 'BOINC Manager')
you're done!

I don't think the way BOINC schedules project runtime is 100% balanced. For many months I was just on Climate Predictor and SETI. Climate Predictor takes a very long time to run a single model (600 or more hours versus 3 for SETI packets) so only one CPDN model is ever on my computer with my current settings (1 day's cache). Occasionally, I noticed that Climate Predictor would suspend and two SETI packets would be processing concurrently instead. No big deal, since they generally stay even, but it mathematically wasn't possible to be a perfect 50-50 split.

"I ran Einstein 120 minutes and then Seti 60 minutes."
I went to the Seti preferences and chose to let seti run for 500 minutes and Einstein to run at 60 minutes, but I can't change one without chanigng the other.

You set your preferences in

Your Account/SETI@home preferences/Resource share

AND

Your Account/SETI@home preferences/Add SETI@home preferences for home(or where you have defined your computer to be)/Resource share

Both places is needed, if you want it different from default.

Default is 100, so if you have 2 or more projects to 100 each, they run the amount of time you set them to, equally.

As I said in the above, when I ran Seti and Einstein, I had Seti on 100 and Einstein on 200, 60 minutes each.

Now I have Seti, Einstein, and ProteinPredictor all on 100, which means they run one hour each. Unless one WU finish and upload, then BOINC goes on and start the WU in the next project in line.

Hope this clears it up for you? Else go to Number Crunching or Questions and Answers, and Paul Buck has made an excellent manual.

[EDIT]And you set your preferences in the other projects, you want to participate in, the same way.
