Sorry for posting this here but this seems to have become the de facto BOINC project board.

Thanks.

I don't look for LHC to get going in earnest until next week sometime, but it doesn't hurt to be attached if they do let loose a bunch of WU's ...

the returning of schmocks..

Aurora Borealis asked:
How long is ProteinPrediction expected to be down this time?

They expected an hour.(one)
It wasn't mentioned, when this single hour startes or ends.

This hour started friday evening (Europe time), it passed the night and
we are in still this hour of several minutes. Perhaps this hour will pass the sunday too.

You have to know, the estimates are coded.
as more low they are, as higher the probability, it COULD take a little bid longer.

Im sure, the estimates of ALL boinc projects are done by the math formula
which is used for the CS and RAC determination.

scientific conclusion:
a "BOINC" hour can or can not fit the "rest-of-word-understanding" of common sense, what an hour could be.

..and there is still cpdn for those who whants to spend cpu cycles
get 4-6 of them and probaly the client is filled up til next year.

Po' Boy,
E@H and CPDN rippin' along.
Besides, you need to power down that farm, let the thermal paste set, give your local electric utility a chance to cool off their equipment and give the rest of us a chance to catch ya ;-) I'd suggest lettin' 'em cool off for about a month... LOL

...and PP@H seems to be down again.

well, I got some pirates units tonight, that was an exciting half-hour of computing.

Hey, since everything's down at the moment, i think i'll try to upgrade to ver.4.25

tangent:
Einstein@Home - Requesting 35 seconds of work

now that was funny.

It is probably going on and off.
I've uploaded some results a couple of times but it still wont update as yet.

It's a good thing there are so many projects to keep the old CPU churning.

I found the following posted by David Braun(Manager of Computational Facilities) on the Predictor messageboards:

The update of the web pages and the daemons went well, the update of the database has presented some challenges. None of the server addresses have changed. cezanne is my workstation, which is also the development machine. I did not get done with the upgrade because the database reacted negatively. I will post something on the front page when we are ready to roll out work again.

I just posted this on the Predictor board since some people are getting WU.

I don't know if you get new WU, I still got enough, but I cleared my list of the previously uploaded WU.

The URL has been corrected from
http://cezanne.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi failed
to
http://predictor.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi succeeded

It may require 2 updates.
5 min. ago it failed with the cezanne URL.
When I updated again, it used the correct URL.

Actually, it can take up to 11 attempts as this is contained in the master file that is only downloaded once every 10 connects.

Predictor is up and running :)

I uploaded my completed WU's and downloaded a bunch more, happily crunching away waiting for the Cognet link to SETI to get fixed.
