How can I make my Queue larger? <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1052&prj=1&trans=off"> <img src="http://seti.mundayweb.com/stats.php?userID=749&trans=off"> |

> How can I make my Queue larger? On your account page go to the general preferences. Here you can change the number for "Connect to network about every x days". Increasing the number means increasing the number of days the client tries to get work for. But don't use too large a number - keep the deadline of 14 days in mind ;) |

> How can I make my Queue larger? > Increase the setting "Connect to network about every" in your general settings. p.s. Please dont expect answers straight away and repeating your post after only 2 hours, this isnt a chat room! ;) p.p.s. Please also search the message boards and check out some of the sites linked to this site. Youve been asking a LOT of questions which with a a very small amount of searching would have been answered a lot quicker, after all if you can't be bothered searching why should someone else be bothered answering for the 20th+ time. Please dont take this as an insult, just as some friendly advice. :) |

> It was set at .1 I set it to .2 will that give me double what I had before? in theory ;) that totally depends on wu size. the .1 should be considered as 0.1 as in a tenth of a day which is about 2,4 hours. But if you try a simple 2 then you'll get 2 days worth of wu's - or 3 then you'll get 3 days worth of wu's. |

Ok, what would you suggest for a time? <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1052&prj=1&trans=off"> <img src="http://seti.mundayweb.com/stats.php?userID=749&trans=off"> |

> Ok, what would you suggest for a time? That totally depends... I have set mine at 2 as I'm also running a few othe projects ;) Although I've set it a bit different for my other host, as it is not up 24/7. Is your host up all the time? are you running other projects? What is your turn around time? (parameters to consider) |

it depends: is SETI your only project?? If it is, try something like 2-3 days, if you have other projects, 0.5 should do... It also depends on your internet connection... if you're on dial up and have it set to 0.1, you'll be dialling in every 2.4 hours, but if it's set to 2, then it'll only call up every 48 or so... |

If want both of the computers to be differerent can I do this by setting one as home and one as work? <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1052&prj=1&trans=off"> <img src="http://seti.mundayweb.com/stats.php?userID=749&trans=off"> |

Josh, just so you know, you can edit your posts if you want to add something to your original thought... leads to less double posting, which is considered slightly rude. and yes,you can set them differently. I would strongly suggest that you read the FAQ since you seem to have lots of questions... |

Okay, how do I label computers as work coputers or home computers? <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1052&prj=1&trans=off"> <img src="http://seti.mundayweb.com/stats.php?userID=749&trans=off"> |

> If want both of the computers to be differerent can I do this by setting one > as home and one as work? Yes you can. But at this time maybe you shouldn't as it CAN be tricky as it doesn't always work as it should - so I suggest you wait a bit with that particular setting ;) To the suggestion about how many days you should set: daytime, meaning about 8 hours or so, right? Try it at 4 days. Then you should have a margin of two days which is good. |

Although, one of my computers I run all day and the other I only run about every third day <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=1052&prj=1&trans=off"> <img src="http://seti.mundayweb.com/stats.php?userID=749&trans=off"> |

> Okay, how do I label computers as work coputers or home computers? > With a version of the Boinc older than 4.2* this does not work like you think it should. It seems to foget the setting most of the time in the older versions. 4.2* and later it works like you think it should and remembers the settings. |

And I went ahead and did it the harder way with the 4.2x client *lol* well, I learn something new everyday ;) |

> Although, one of my computers I run all day and the other I only run about > every third day > Boinc/Seti has an expiration of units set at 14 days. You can set your cache up to a max of 10 days right now. Meaning you can set your cache for say 4 days and be well within the time limits and still not feel like you are tied to the computer all the time. Personally I have mine set at 1 day, but I have lots of computers crunching and like to see the credits go up every day. If you have your cache set up for longer then of course your computer only connects every that many days so your credits will get a jump every time it connects but not show a nice steady move every day. |
