Does the Windows client (4.19) support allowing RPC so that I can use BOINCview? I have not found any mention of it, and when I use BOINCview on a Windows box, the SETI client complains about "RPC request from non-allowed address". I would think there is a setting or config file to permit this, but I have not found it.... |

The problem is that RPC format changed some times and GUI (BoincView in this case) has to support it. 4.19 (and a few before) have had different RPC format than 4.20 (and later). If you're running old (4.19) client, you should use BoincView 0.9.2. There are two ways of enabling remote GUI RPC: add command line option -allow_remote_gui_rpc when starting your boinc client create a file remote_hosts.cfg in your boinc directory. It should be straight text file with the list of IPs or hostnames of hosts which are allowed to connect to your boinc client. Metod ... |

Thanks...for some reason I was thinking that the Windows version did not take command line options similar to the Unix version, and it had to be in a file somewhere... it works now. |
