Hi, As in the title, what is the credit system for? Just to calculate tables of who has done the most work? Or something else? |

The way I heard it, a megalomaniacal and yet in his own way philanthropic multibillionaire - aka "He Who Should Not be Named" - has decided to buy his way to immortality in the annals of Galactic history by buying up all the SETI@home credits in a forthcoming eBay transaction, thus ensuring that HE will be the one who gets credit for the first ET signal. But only if the BOINC boys and girls dump their Sun equipment for you-know-what. It's just as well. We need all those BILLions just to buy enough hardware and hire cnough staff to keep BOINC percolating. |
