My 4 local machines are all P4s running MS 2000P. When I click on the "WORK" tab 3 of the 4 show the "Ready to Report" and "Running" units highlighted in yellow. The other just shows them in grey. If there is a setting for this I haven't yet found it. Also, what is the "Transfers" tab supposed to do? I get no response when I click it. See what I mean, small stuff. Dave Nelson |

Best source for getting your feet under you is Paul Buck's. (The transfers tab will show you the status of active uploads & downloads in progress. If you're not transfering something, there's nothing to show there, so it's empty.) |

In my case it is because those machines are running older video cards that are not set to display 16 or 32 bit color and are running at a lower resolution as well. This could possibly be the situation you are seeing as well. SkyHook |

David: Thank you. I had a shortcut to Paul on my desktop but for some reason it went inactive and I thought that he had folded. I have now re-established the link. Skyhook: And also, thank you. That explains the "Transfers" tab. As for the video, I thought that my cards were all pretty much the same vintage, but, maybe not. I will investigate the situation. Dave Nelson |

Skyhook: I think you have identified the problem. The 3 machines that display in yellow are all Nvidia. The reluctant one is Aopen and probably older. Video cards are fairly inexpensive and I am filthy rich. I will invest in a new card and publish the results. Dave Nelson |

@Admiral For your machine that is only showing grey make sure your video settings are set for more that 256 colors. If you can set it for 65536 or more and the yellow start showing up in BOINC. |

I never thought to check that because I thought that I had all my cards set to the maximun. > > > Dave Nelson |
