Can anyone tell me how to disable UnInstallShield? I don't have the administrative rights at my computer at work, but I'm the only one working on it. I'd like to install SETI on it, but every time I try, the process is interrupted by UnInstallShield.

Any help please?

Nicely I say to you, If you don't have permission to run BOINC on your computer at work you should not do it, I am sure IT put uninstallSheild there for a reson.

Respectfully,

Timmy

It's been installed (or run over network) so people wouldn't install any illegal content (games...). We were told we can use legal programs, and BOINC is one of them. That's the point and the problem.

Then you need to ask the admin at work, why it is being blocked. It's fairly likely that they haven't updated the acceptable programs to add the newer versions. Besides it's always good to CYA, and running it by them pretty well does that.

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.
