It's been steadily growing for the past 2 days. Good news, not great, but good. Now...if only we could do something about that "Waiting to Validate" number... 250,000 seems a bit much...

Oh well, good news all the same. :)

Hey folks, it's still the old server (per anything we all have heard) so don't get too excited....

Those that have ben around for some time, realize that the "server status" isn't always correct (or sometimes correct, to be exact!)

... and it could very well mean that MySQL finally finished the garbage collection, and if that's true then the old server is again "fast enough."

Time will tell.

I gotta say - I was just checking in and noticed that the results-ready-to-send queue has been growing for a few hours, and the message boards/etc. were much faster.. but nothing really has changed. We're still using the old server, and it's still churning away on some kind of garbage collection. However, maybe it's beyond parts of the database that are actively used. Will check more tomorrow. Until then, enjoy!

I've watched "ready to send" go from about 4K to 12K in a couple hours, this is good. Hopefully, once the RTS que is high enough (enough so one or two of the splitters can be backed off) the validator can pickup some steam. Last time it fell behind, IIRC the large "ready to validate" list slows the process down. With any luck, it'll start showing lower numbers in 24 hours.

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.

This was at 8:20 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time. Nice to see the server coming back up and sorry if I took WUs from other people but maybe this is a signal to cut back on the WU caching?

Good job, Berkeley.(As a Duck, this is hard for me to stomach more than once a week.)

Now we just need the database to turn the corner on the validation backlog.

I just thought of something amusing. The server will probably finish up the SQL garbage cleanup just before we cut over to the new server. Oh well, such is life!

Of course it will, that's Murphy's Law. (the probability of the bread landing butter-side-up varies inversely to the cost of the carpet)

Hello - just a quick note (we're still busy observing things around here). But the new database server is up and running. Notice anything different?

FYI, the old database server was *still* doing its garbage collection when we made the switch just now.

Wow. I'm amazed at how fast the "results" pages come up now. Before the switch I would wait 5-10 seconds for each page; now it's nearly instantaneous. Fantastic! I probably have 4-5K credits pending...should be fun to watch the validator catch up over the coming days.

Way to go guys!
