I have 5 machines running BOINC 3 of them are running on clable/modem so they are always connected but the other 2 are not, so when I Download about 15 WU I have about 2 weeks to finish them, and my PC is a 450Mhz connected via dial-up, so I loose about 3 WU´s per week.

When you download client it will run a benchmark test this helps in calculating what your CPU could handle. 450Mhz probably takes 12hrs to complete a wu. So 14 days worth would be 28 wu. I set my cache for 7 days worth so I know I can complete the units and recieve credit.

Well.....you could either connect more often, lower your cache size, or just crunch for a program that doesn't have such a hard limit on the return of units. Have you checked out Climate Prediction or Einstein to see if they have a hard limit on the return of units. Just because Seti does, does not mean the others do too!

Climate Prediction has an 11 month limit, but gets the results back in trickles, I think when it updates. The one unit I've got is showing 605 hours to completion, with 46+ hours completed. It might be a good option for a computer that's only connected to the net sporadically.

I don't think Einstein is accepting new participants at the moment.
