With the old S@H client, I'd run it on all our engineering machines. Most of these are 2-3Ghz 2 processor machines. The user would notice no performance hit when it was running. With 3.19 BOINC client, we've had to suspend processing on those machines while they work. Solidworks is taking twice as long to do operations with it running :( I verified boinc is running Low priority. Doesnt seem to matter. Soon as boinc is suspended, the speed doubles for the user. I've moved them into a different boinc profile so it only works while they are away :( Any suggestions? |

Turned out to be Norton AV. BOINC reads/writes to its files often, and Norton was scanning it. Excluded the program files\BOINC folder, everything is fine now. |

I think you can also specify the amount of elapsed time between disk I/O's. I have mine set at 60 sec. not sure what the default is. I believe this is a BOINC param. Best, |
